The season's second family concert is dedicated to Christmas with the atmospheric cartoon The Snowman as one of the highlights. We promise a good Christmas atmosphere with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, young singers and dancers, well-known classics and beloved Christmas carols.
For many, it wouldn't be a proper Christmas without the film classic Home Alone , so we'll simply start the concert with music from there - the theme song from the film, "Somewhere in My Memory", and "Star of Bethlehem " , both written by the incomparable John Williams.
We also get to hear and see excerpts from Peter Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker . Together with the orchestra, the dancers from Bergen Cultural School offer both chocolate, coffee and tea.
The highlight for many is the adventurous cartoon The Snowman by Howard Blake, about the snowman who comes alive and gives a little boy a Christmas experience he will never forget.
