Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steven Mercurio - Municipal House, Smetana Hall
Program Info: Czech National Symphony Orchestra Steven Mercurio, conductor Jan Hasenöhrl, truba
The program of the concert dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of our orchestra returns to the music that sounded under the batons of Zdenek Košler, Libor Pešek, Paul Freeman, Ennio Morricone, Marcello Rota, Vince Mendoza and Steven Mercurio. All of them spent a long time with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, shaping its development and cooperation with them brought us the glare of the Oscar and Grammy awards.
The current chief conductor, Steven Mercurio, a student of Leonard Bernstein, also arranges and composes in addition to conducting. You will hear his piece Mercurial Ouverture, which he dedicated to the ČNSO anniversary, during this concert. We believe that the other works will also remind you of the individual stages of the body's existence.
