Charlie Chaplin: The Circus - Cine Concert
Orchestre symphonique de l’École d’Enseignements Artistiques de Tournefeuille conducted by Claude Puysségur - L’Escale
Program Info: Charles Chaplin - The Circus
"The Circus" from 1925 is the last silent film by the famous Charlie Chaplin, a masterpiece full of grotesque ingenuity, delicious ideas and clear, haunting images. After years of trying to forget this film, Chaplin returned to The Circus in the 1960s and released it with new, self-composed music. The orchestral music in the Vaudeville style subtly interprets the events of the plot and masterfully fulfills their role, which is so important for silent film.
