Hooray for Hollywood - Galanacht der Filmmusik
ORSOphilharmonie conducted by Wolfgang Roese - Liederhalle Stuttgart
Program Info: "Film music is nothing more than wallpaper, a filling material." (Igor Stravinsky)
The artistic director Wolfgang Roese does not see it as drastically as Stravinsky and presents with the ORSOphilharmonic powerful blockbusters from over 50 years of film history.
Last year, ORSOphilharmonic presented classics from the history of film music, such as "Robin Hood" by Erich Wolfgang Korngold or "Ben-Hur" by Miklós Rózsa. The current composers of film music such as John Williams or Hans Zimmer are also represented in the program.
Sophisticated Hollywood scores for large symphony orchestras and choirs let the film arise in your head. Over 170 contributors ensure pure goose bumps!
