This autumn, more than 130 musicians will bring the music of Star Wars back to life during a unique concert series in the Netherlands. The International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv, Ukraine, will perform the world-famous soundtracks from the Star Wars films under the direction of conductor Raymond Janssen. They are supported by the National Choir of Ukraine 'Dumka' and combine the songs into a radiant whole. Especially in these turbulent times, it is unique that both companies come to the Netherlands for an exclusive tour. Heroic and explosive pieces are interspersed with sublime music during this concert series. The Star Wars Suite was already heard with great success in the Netherlands in 2018, 2019 and 2022 and is therefore now returning for a reprise due to popular demand. The impressive music will be supplemented this year with a visual spectacle of laser, light and other special effects. A feast for the ear and the eye!
The Star Wars Suite is a grand and compelling musical spectacle that drew full houses in the Netherlands in 2018, 2019 and 2022. It's not for nothing that the phenomenal score and soundtracks of Star Wars have been named 'best film music of all time'. The soundtracks were composed by John Williams and appeal to both classical music lovers and fans of the movies. The score is integral to the success of Star Wars. Williams is without a doubt the greatest American film composer ever. Star Wars was his breakthrough: the symphonic music from the film immediately became legendary. In the late 1970s – when synthesizers were on the rise, Williams was inspired by composers from the 1930s. The famous Imperial Mars is the most famous example of this. An almost iconic one that is enhanced by spectacular choral elements. It contrasts perfectly with the modern high tech elements from the film. The Star Wars movies are among the biggest box office hits of the 20th century. Williams has succeeded in musically accompanying the breathtaking images in an impressive way. The success of Star Wars motivated him to also present the film music live to a large and worldwide audience.

Following on from the very successful Lord of the Rings concerts and the famous Carmina Burana, The Star Wars Suite will also be performed by The International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv and the National Choir of Ukraine 'Dumka'. Both companies are coming to the Netherlands especially for this occasion in the largest line-up ever and consist of only passionate top musicians.
